Serving the ophthalmologic needs of south Florida patients, Alan Mendelsohn, MD, has surgical experience spanning diverse types of eye disease. He regularly treats glaucoma patients and undertakes cataract surgeries that employ advanced laser and no-stitch technologies. Dr. Alan Mendelsohn’s experience extends to red eyes and infections, and he has extensive knowledge of diabetic retinopathy.
Dr. Mendelsohn also provides patients with lens replacement operations that involve AcrySof IQ, ReSTOR, and Toric IOL lenses. He maintains longstanding affiliation with Baptist Eye Surgery Center and Memorial Same Day Surgery Center.
Active in his professional community, Dr. Mendelsohn held a position as treasurer of the Florida Medical Association’s Political Action Committee in the early 2000s and was president-elect of the Broward County Medical Association. His leadership activities extended to serving as past president of Florida Society of Ophthalmology.
Having pursued his BS in medicine at Northwestern University, Alan Mendelsohn, MD, completed his doctor of medicine at the same institute and served as president of his medical school class for three years. In 1986, he held responsibilities as chief resident with Northwestern University’s ophthalmology program.
